The ongoing transformation of Suzanne Lake reached a major milestone recently as a newly completed section of the waterfront boardwalk opened, giving neighbors their first opportunity to safely walk out over the water and enjoy the lake up close.
New aerial photos show the impressive progress made on the long-awaited project, with large stretches of the modern boardwalk now completed and already changing the atmosphere around the lake.
For local residents, the newly opened section marks the first time the community has been able to comfortably and safely access the waterfront in such a direct and welcoming way. The new pathways create a calm and scenic environment where families and visitors can stroll, relax, and enjoy the natural beauty of the lake.
The Suzanne Lake revitalization project has been under development for an extended period and continues moving forward with additional construction still underway around the property. Once fully completed, the project is expected to feature expanded walking areas, landscaped green spaces, benches, viewing points, and other upgrades aimed at transforming Suzanne Lake into a beautiful and calming area.
“I am pleased to see the continued progress on the Suzanne Lake Revitalization Project,” Assemblyman Aron Wieder said in a statement to Rockland Daily. “I was proud to help secure the funding for this initiative while serving as a county legislator, and I look forward to its completion as a valuable community asset for Monsey.”
While an official grand opening has not yet taken place, the newly accessible boardwalk area is already seeing steady use, with neighbors beginning to enjoy the newly opened space.
