Ethan Erlich, Director of the Community Security Initiative, held two security preparedness trainings today at the Vishnitz Talmud Torah on 230 Maple Avenue in Monsey, focusing on active threat awareness and school safety planning.

One training was held with younger division’s menahelim, rebbeim, and school leaders, while a second course later in the day was held with the older boys’ cheider staff.

The discussions focused on active threat preparedness, emergency response procedures, communication, and practical guidance for schools and mosdos.

The Community Security Initiative was created by UJA-Federation of New York and the Jewish Community Relations Council to help Jewish schools, shuls, and community institutions improve security, emergency preparedness, and active threat response training.

The trainings come as schools and community institutions continue reviewing and strengthening security procedures and emergency preparedness plans.
