Trump Arrives in Beijing With U.S. CEOs Including Nvidia’s Jensen Huang for Summit With Xi

BEIJING (VINnews) – President Trump landed in Beijing on Wednesday accompanied by a high-powered delegation of American business leaders, including Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping aimed at opening up economic opportunities.

Trump personally invited Huang at the last minute after reports emerged that the Nvidia chief had not been included in the original list of executives. Huang boarded Air Force One during a refueling stop in Anchorage, Alaska, Trump confirmed on Truth Social.

“CNBC incorrectly reported that the Great Jensen Huang, of Nvidia, was not invited to the incredible gathering of the World’s Greatest Businessmen/women proudly going to China,” Trump wrote. “In actuality, Jensen is currently on Air Force One and, unless I ask him to leave, which is highly unlikely, CNBC’s reporting is incorrect or, as they say in politics, FAKE NEWS!”

In the same post, Trump described the trip as an honor and said he would urge Xi “to ‘open up’ China so that these brilliant people can work their magic, and help bring the People’s Republic to an even higher level.”

The delegation also includes Apple CEO Tim Cook, BlackRock’s Larry Fink, Blackstone’s Stephen Schwarzman, Boeing’s Kelly Ortberg, Citi’s Jane Fraser, Goldman Sachs’ David Solomon and other executives from major U.S. firms in tech, finance, aerospace and agriculture.

The summit comes amid ongoing U.S.-China tensions over trade, technology exports — particularly advanced semiconductors — and other issues. Trump has signaled hopes for major business deals during the visit.

Nvidia confirmed that Huang is participating at Trump’s invitation to support U.S. economic and diplomatic goals. Huang’s company has faced U.S. restrictions on selling its most advanced AI chips to China.

The trip is expected to include bilateral meetings, a state banquet and discussions on trade, investment and other priorities.
