
TRAGEDY IN PANAMA: Israeli Woman Killed In Horrific Crash, Several Others Injured
An Israeli woman was killed Thursday in a serious traffic accident in La Chorrera, Panama, involving a shuttle minibus and a bus.
Several other Israeli citizens were injured, some seriously and others moderately, and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
ZAKA Tel Aviv said its international division immediately coordinated with local teams in Panama following the crash in order to assist at the scene, help at the hospital, and support the victims and their families.
Baruch Nidam, director of ZAKA Tel Aviv’s international division, said: “Immediately upon receiving the report, we began working together with Israel’s Foreign Ministry to bring the deceased back to Israel as quickly as possible for burial and levayah, and to fly the injured victims to Israel for medical treatment.”
According to ZAKA, teams are in contact with local authorities and working urgently to arrange the release and transport of the victims back to Israel.
Yosef Dvir, commander of ZAKA Tel Aviv in Panama, said he arrived at the scene together with additional volunteers and is working with officials to ensure kavod hameis and collect all necessary remains and evidence from the scene.
