Drivers across parts of Rockland County should expect delays Sunday morning as the annual GFNY World Championship bike race passes through the area.

The international cycling event is scheduled for this Sunday, May 17, with riders expected to travel through areas in Rockland including Haverstraw, Stony Point, Ramapo, West Nyack, and other parts of Rockland County between approximately 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

The race starting point begins near the George Washington Bridge before traveling north through Rockland County and surrounding areas, and then looping back south toward the finish line in Fort Lee.

Police departments along the route will assist with traffic control and road safety during the race. Drivers should expect temporary delays and heavier traffic throughout the morning hours in the passing areas.
