A hate crime investigation is underway after horrific incidents across Monsey and Spring Valley late last night where multiple residents were sprayed with unknown substances and targeted with objects thrown from a black SUV traveling through several Monsey neighborhood streets.

The incidents unfolded across multiple locations including West Central Avenue, Adar Court, Herrick Avenue, and Decatur Avenue, where victims were targeted by individuals traveling through the area before the vehicle sped away.

Ramapo Police, Chaverim of Rockland, and Hatzoloh responded to the scenes as additional calls continued coming in late at night. At least two victims were treated by Hatzoloh following the incidents.

The attacks quickly spread fear across Monsey overnight as reports continued coming in from different streets, leaving many residents concerned as the incidents unfolded late into the night.

Ramapo Police immediately launched an overnight investigation. Ramapo Police Chief Daniel Hyman said, officers and detectives were able to identify a vehicle connected to the incidents through investigative efforts conducted shortly after the calls came in.

Authorities later traced the black SUV to a residence in Nanuet, where the vehicle has since been located by investigators.

At this time, no arrests have been announced. Detectives continue coordinating with law enforcement partners while working to determine who was involved, what substance was used, and whether additional victims were targeted during the incidents.

Law enforcement sources confirmed to Rockland Daily that the case is actively being investigated as a possible hate crime.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
