New Section Added to Montebello Eruv

A newly added section of the Montebello Eruv has officially been completed, expanding the eruv boundaries to include additional areas of Montebello and nearby neighborhoods.

Updated maps released this week outline the newly expanded boundaries and provide detailed guidance regarding which streets, homes, and areas are now included within the eruv.

According to the posted information, Route 202 serves as the western boundary of the eruv in Montebello and Wesley Hills up until Pomona. Officials noted that while many homes east of Route 202 are included within the eruv, residents should carefully review the official map since some nearby streets and homes may remain outside the boundaries.

The newly released guidelines state that homes on the Harriman State Park side of Route 202 are outside the eruv. Route 202 itself also remains outside the eruv except for the section between Bayard Lane and Kevin Drive.

Several roads were specifically listed as outside the eruv boundaries, including Babbling Brook Lane, Regis Court, Westgate Road, Sky Meadow Road, Eastgate Road, Kings Gate Road, and Mills Road.

Lake Road is also outside the eruv except for the section between Marian Drive and Montebello Road.

The updated information further explains that residents may carry between the Suffern and Montebello eruvin using the Hemion Road crossing, and between the Airmont and Montebello eruvin using the Airmont Road crossing.

Officials also confirmed that the Barn Shul, Executive Boulevard, and the Crowne Plaza are included within the Montebello Eruv boundaries, while the New York State Thruway remains outside the eruv.

Residents are encouraged to carefully review the official maps and consult local rabbinic authorities with any questions regarding specific homes or streets within the newly expanded eruv area.
