
TERROR IN SWITZERLAND: Man Shouting “Allahu Akbar” Stabs And Injures Three At Swiss Train Station Near Zurich
A knife-wielding man reportedly shouted “Allahu Akbar” as he attacked people at a busy train station in Switzerland on Thursday morning, injuring three people before being arrested by police.
The attack took place shortly after 8:30 a.m. at the Winterthur train station, located near Zurich, according to local police.
Authorities said the suspect, identified only as a 31-year-old Swiss national, was arrested following the attack. Three victims were transported to hospitals for treatment.
According to Swiss media reports, eyewitnesses said the attacker was armed with a knife and shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the incident as terrified commuters fled the area.
Police have not yet announced a motive for the attack, and authorities have not officially classified the incident as terrorism. Investigators are continuing to examine what led to the stabbing.
The victims were identified by police as Swiss men ages 28, 43 and 52. Their full conditions were not immediately released, though Swiss media reported that the injuries ranged from moderate to serious.
The attack prompted a major police and emergency response at the station, with parts of the area cordoned off as investigators processed the scene. Witnesses described scenes of panic as people ran from the station area during the morning commute.
Winterthur is one of Switzerland’s largest cities and serves as a major rail hub in the Zurich region.
The suspect remains in custody as police continue their investigation.
