IDF Investigating Hezbollah’s Use of Night-Vision FPV Drones After Fatal Attacks
JERUSALEM (VINnews)-The Israel Defense Forces are investigating Hezbollah’s deployment of first-person view (FPV) drones equipped with apparent thermal imaging and night-vision capabilities, following the deaths of two IDF soldiers in nighttime explosive drone attacks this week.
The Lebanese terror group published several video clips over the past week showing FPV drones fitted with what appear to be thermal cameras conducting operations in the dark. The footage highlights Hezbollah’s efforts to enhance its drone capabilities against Israeli forces.

In response to a query, the IDF acknowledged the evolving threat posed by the inexpensive and readily available drones.
“The IDF is continuously and consistently developing responses to contend with the drone threat across all sectors,” the military said.

The army described the drone threat as “a dynamic and evolving threat, characterized by inexpensive, readily available tools with a high rate of variability.” It added that trends including the use of night-vision capabilities “are known and being studied.”
“Various review processes are being conducted alongside the implementation of solutions and operational methods to contend with the threat, in accordance with lessons learned from the field and the operational situation assessment,” the IDF stated.
The incidents come amid ongoing clashes along the Israel-Lebanon border, with Hezbollah increasingly relying on advanced drone tactics to target Israeli troops.
