1 Murdered, 5 Injured As Terrorists Open Fire At 3 Locations In Sharon Region
JERUSALEM (VINnews) — One person was murdered and four others were injured, one of them seriously, in three different shooting scenes that occurred in the area of Kochav Yair and Tzur Yitzhak, located near the Green Line in the Sharon region.
The shooting spree began at a gas station in Kochav Yair, where two men were injured, one in serious condition and one in moderate condition. Later, a moderately injured victim was found at the entrance to Tzur Yitzhak. After that, two additional injured people were shot in a car on road 5533 leading towards the Samarian village of Salit. One of them in critical condition was later pronounced dead.
Two terrorists fled the scenes in all of the incidents, and police who were called to the area launched a manhunt and opened an investigation into the circumstances of the events. One of the terrorists has been eliminated, and the stolen car they were driving in has been located, but the other is still at large. Police say that the eliminated terrorist was an Israeli citizen from the town of Taibe.
Teams from Magen David Adom provided medical treatment to all the injured, who were evacuated to Beilinson Hospital and Meir Hospital.
A MDA paramedic, Lior Silberberg, said:
“We received reports at the MDA 101 dispatch center about several injured in different scenes, including reports of gunshot wounds. At the gas station near Kochav Yair, we began providing medical treatment to a man about 50 years old in serious condition and a man about 30 years old in moderate condition. At another scene in Tzur Yitzhak, we treated a man about 30 years old who was injured in his hand. At an additional scene on Road 5533, we treated a man in critical condition and another injured man in serious condition. We continue to provide medical treatment at the different scenes.”
