
Reservist Haim Kalomiti, 55, Killed in Terror Shooting in Central Israel
TZUR NATAN (VINnews) A 55-year-old reservist was killed and a security coordinator was severely wounded Sunday morning in a terror shooting attack in central Israel, the military said.
Master Sgt. (res.) Haim Kalomiti of Tzur Natan was identified as the fatality. He served in the Ephraim Regional Brigade as a regional defense soldier — reservists called up by the military to defend their communities in the West Bank and along its border.
The security coordinator for Tzur Natan, also a reservist, was seriously injured in the attack. He was evacuated to a hospital, where his family was notified, the Israel Defense Forces said.
Details of the shooting spree, including the identity and status of the attacker or attackers, were not immediately released.
The incident comes amid heightened security concerns in the region.
