🚨🚨 IRAN FIRES MISSILES AT ISRAEL: Iranian Ballistic Missiles Fired At Israel, Intercepted By Air Defenses
Iran launched multiple ballistic missile salvos toward Israel on Sunday evening, triggering sirens across parts of northern Israel and sending millions of Israelis rushing to protected areas.
The IDF confirmed that missiles had been launched from Iran toward Israeli territory and activated its multilayered air defense systems to intercept the threat.
The IDF says that all Iranian ballistic missiles were successfully intercepted by Israeli air defense systems over northern Israel.
According to Israel’s emergency services, Magen David Adom, following the launch of Iranian ballistic missiles against Israel, 2 people were injured while en route to sheltered areas. So far, this appears to be the only casualties from Iran’s most recent wave of strikes on Israel.
The attack came hours after the Home Front Command significantly tightened security restrictions nationwide amid concerns of an imminent Iranian response. Schools and educational institutions across Israel were ordered closed as the military raised its level of preparedness.
The IDF said it had reinforced defensive measures and remained on high alert for a variety of scenarios, both defensive and offensive. Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and senior commanders have been conducting ongoing assessments throughout the day.
Meanwhile, U.S. Central Command stated that American forces throughout the Middle East “remain vigilant and ready” amid escalating regional tensions.
In a separate indication of growing concerns across the region, Qatar issued a Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) restricting certain air routes near its maritime border with Iran through June 14.
Earlier Sunday, reports from western Tehran indicated increased Iranian Air Force activity, adding to speculation that a military response was imminent.
The Home Front Command continues to urge Israelis to remain near protected spaces and strictly follow all official instructions.
