Dozens of Israeli Air Force fighter jets, guided by IDF intelligence, carried out major strikes on Iran’s strategic air‑defense systems on Monday morning.
In recent weeks, Iran has deployed new defense systems across the country in efforts to restore its detection and defense capabilities that were severely damaged during Operation Roaring Lion.
The IDF’s strikes this morning destroyed those systems and further expanded the IAF’s freedom of action in Iranian airspace.
Since Iran began launching attacks on Israel on Sunday night, Israel has responded with two waves of strikes focused on strategic areas inside Iran.
The first wave targeted surface‑to‑air missile batteries, the backbone of Iran’s air‑defense network, in several locations around Tehran as well as in central and western Iran, with the goal of disrupting Iran’s ability to detect and intercept threats.
The second wave struck energy and industrial infrastructure in southwestern Iran.
