President Donald Trump dramatically escalated tensions with Iran on Thursday, warning that the United States will strike the Islamic Republic “VERY HARD TONIGHT” and declaring that key Iranian oil infrastructure could soon fall under American control.

In a fiery Truth Social post, Trump claimed Iran’s military has been largely destroyed, asserting that its Navy, Air Force, radar systems, anti-aircraft defenses, and much of its offensive capability are “GONE.”

“The United States will be hitting Iran… VERY HARD TONIGHT,” Trump wrote.

Trump also made a stunning declaration regarding Iran’s energy sector, saying the United States would eventually seize Kharg Island — the critical Persian Gulf terminal through which the vast majority of Iran’s oil exports pass.

“At some point in the not too distant future, we will be taking Kharg Island, and other oil infrastructure points, and assume total control of their Oil and Gas Markets,” Trump wrote.

Kharg Island is widely considered the backbone of Iran’s oil industry, handling roughly 90 percent of the country’s crude exports and serving as one of the regime’s most valuable economic assets.
