California (VINnews) — Two Israeli men, both believed to be in their 40s, were killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday night on Mulholland Highway near Calabasas, California.
The crash occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Mulholland Highway and Dry Canyon Cold Creek Road, prompting authorities to close the roadway in both directions, according to a traffic alert issued by the City of Calabasas.
According to witnesses, the vehicle left the roadway, struck a fire hydrant and crashed onto private property. A local resident whose family property was impacted by the crash said the car became airborne before landing in the backyard. Both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.

“This was my parents’ front yard,” resident Aubrey Golding wrote on social media. “Please pray for their families, friends, and loved ones as they grieve their deaths. Let this serve as a grave and devastating reminder that Mulholland Highway is not a race track. It’s a humbling road that is home to our neighbors — humans and animals alike.”
Following the accident, the international division of ZAKA began coordinating with local authorities and the victims’ families, assisting with identification procedures, documentation and other necessary arrangements.
“ZAKA’s international unit is working closely with local authorities in the United States and is supporting the families through every stage of the process,” said ZAKA Deputy Director of Operations Chaim Weingarten. “We are assisting with identification procedures and helping advance the necessary steps in handling the case.”
The identities of the victims have not yet been released. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
