TEFILLOS IN BRISK: Rav Avraham Yehoshua Soloveitchik Taken To ICU

Jun 22, 2026·1 min read

The Olam HaTorah is being urged to daven following a sudden deterioration in the condition of HaGaon Rav Avraham Yehoshua Soloveitchik, Rosh Yeshivas Brisk, who was returned to the intensive care unit at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital on Monday.

After showing significant improvement over the past week, Rav Soloveitchik had been preparing for his anticipated discharge from the hospital. However, just as he was expected to leave, his condition suddenly worsened, requiring his transfer back to the ICU.

Immediately upon hearing the news, a mass Tehillim gathering was held in the Brisk Yeshiva in Jerusalem, while additional groups traveled to Kever Rachel to daven on his behalf.

Further public Tehillim gatherings are expected to take place tonight in Chareidi communities across Eretz Yisroel and around the world as thousands of talmidim and members of Klal Yisroel continue to beseech Hashem for his recovery.

Rav Soloveitchik has been hospitalized for approximately two weeks following heart surgery. During his hospitalization, the hospital arranged a special room where he could daven over Shabbos.

The tzibbur is urged to continue davening and beseeching Rachamei Shamayim for the complete recovery of Avraham Yehoshua ben Ettil.
