LEBANON: IDF Fires On Terrorists Disguised As Civilians In Southern Lebanon
IDF troops opened fire Monday on four Hezbollah terrorists who crossed into Israel’s security zone in southern Lebanon while operating under the guise of civilians, the military said.
According to the IDF, the incident occurred in the Ali al-Taher Ridge area, where troops identified four Hezbollah terrorists riding a bulldozer and a motorcycle after they entered the security zone and advanced toward Israeli forces in a manner that posed an immediate threat.
Soldiers initially fired warning shots to drive the suspects back. When the operatives continued advancing and ignored repeated calls to stop, troops opened fire again to eliminate the threat. The IDF said hits were identified.
The military accused Hezbollah of routinely operating under civilian cover in an effort to conceal its terrorist activities.
“This incident is another example of Hezbollah’s cynical use of Lebanese civilians and civilian infrastructure as a shield for its terrorist operations,” the IDF said.
The IDF stressed that it “will not allow the Hezbollah terrorist organization to harm the citizens of the State of Israel or IDF troops” and will continue acting to eliminate immediate threats.
