Drivers heading from New Jersey toward the southbound New York State Thruway should prepare for an overnight ramp closure tonight.

The New York State Thruway Authority said the Exit 15 ramp from I-287 in New Jersey to the southbound Thruway will be closed from 10:00 p.m. tonight until 5:00 a.m. tomorrow, weather permitting.

The closure is part of overnight work in the area, as crews shift traffic through the work zone. Crews are expected to begin work at 9:00 p.m.

Drivers will be directed to follow the posted detour to Exit 15A in order to access the southbound Thruway.

The Thruway Authority said there will also be a few overnight traffic stops, each lasting up to 15 minutes. Motorists are urged to slow down, use caution, and plan ahead.
