FIRST-EVER TIE AT THE TOP: Kan Poll Shows Likud And Eisenkot’s Yashar Deadlocked At 23 Seats

Jul 5, 2026·2 min read

A new Kan News poll published Sunday shows a first-time tie at the top of the political map, with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s Likud and Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar party each receiving 23 seats.

The poll shows Likud dropping by one seat from the previous survey, while Yashar gains one, placing the two parties even for the first time in the current election cycle. Naftali Bennett’s Beyachad party remains in third place with 16 seats, widening Eisenkot’s lead over Bennett.

The Democrats, Otzma Yehudit, and Yisrael Beytenu each receive 9 seats, with Avigdor Liberman’s party rising by one seat from the previous poll. United Torah Judaism also gains one seat and receives 8, the same as Shas. Hadash-Ta’al receives 6 seats, Religious Zionism receives 5, and Ra’am receives 4.

The Reservists party, at 2.3%, Blue and White, at 1.9%, and Balad do not cross the electoral threshold. Under this scenario, the current coalition bloc stands at 53 seats, while the anti-Netanyahu bloc reaches 67.

The poll also tested a possible new party led by Yuli Edelstein, Ayelet Shaked, and Gilad Erdan. Such a party would win 6 seats, drawing support from Netanyahu, Eisenkot, Bennett, and Smotrich. In that scenario, the Netanyahu bloc would fall to 50 seats.

In the question of who is most suited to serve as prime minister, Eisenkot edges out Netanyahu for the first time, 41% to 40%. Against Bennett, however, Netanyahu leads 41% to 33%.

Among coalition voters, 36% say Ofer Winter should lead a new right-wing party. Gilad Erdan follows with 13%, Ayelet Shaked with 7%, and Yuli Edelstein with 6%.

The poll was conducted on July 5, 2026, by the Kantar Institute. A total of 2,589 people were invited to participate, with 553 men and women aged 18 and older responding. The survey was conducted online, included the Arab sector, and has a margin of error of 4.2%.
