Eisenkot Party Candidate Reveals Plan To “End Chareidi Autonomy”

Jul 9, 2026·2 min read

Inbar Harush Gity, a candidate in Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar party who was involved in establishing Chareidi enlistment initiatives at the Defense Ministry, said this week that Yashar’s objective extends beyond recruiting Chareidim into the IDF to targeting “every aspect of Chareidi life” in order to “end Chareidi autonomy.”

Speaking on a panel at the Yisrael Hayom conference, she explained her approach: “Listen, if you want to recruit Chareidim—and I’m saying this as someone who established Chareidi hesder yeshivos and Chareidi IDF programs—there is no choice but to end Chareidi autonomy. It’s not just about enlistment. It’s about ending Chareidi autonomy. Those who read all the texts we’ve written—on education, economy, and military service—will see exactly that.”

She continued: “We’re going after every aspect of Chareidi life. We won’t allow Chareidi autonomy to exist because it weakens the State of Israel and harms its security and economy.”

When questioned about which Chareidi Rabbanim she’s spoken to, she claimed she’s in touch with the most senior Chareidi Rabbanim but refused to reveal names.

“The last thing that needs to be done is to talk to the Rabbanim at the top of the Chareidi autonomy pyramid—we need to cut out the middlemen,” she said.
