Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced more than $8.4 million in grants to support small businesses and commercial corridors across all five boroughs, including $2.77 million for 32 organizations in Brooklyn. BORO PARK HATE ATTACK: A yungerman walking near 18th Avenue and 55th Street on Tuesday evening was suddenly attacked by a group of six individuals who pulled up in a vehicle, threw eggs in his face and fled. Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the Department of Buildings announced new rules aimed at getting sidewalk sheds removed faster, including 90-day permit renewals requiring owners to show repair progress and escalating penalties for sheds left up without active work. City Council Transportation Committee Chair Shaun Abreu is urging Apple to remove the Empower ride-share app from its App Store in New York City, saying the service is operating without a required TLC license.
