Firefighters and other emergency personnel are on the scene of a fully engulfed vehicle fire on Route 17 eastbound between Exits 113 and 114.

ROCK HILL: Catskills Hatzolah Search and Rescue responded to Katrina Falls after two hikers became lost for approximately three hours. The hikers were successfully located, are doing well, and are now on their way home.

KIAMESHA: Earlier, a tractor-trailer became stuck while exiting a parking lot on Route 42 near Fraser Road. Catskills Chaverim volunteers assisted in pulling the truck back, and traffic returned to normal.

FALLSBURG: A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Riverside Drive near Krula Camp. Catskills Hatzolah responded to the scene. Minor injuries were reported.

MONTICELLO: A suspect wanted for stealing bicycles was arrested by Monticello Police with the help of Catskills Shomrim volunteers and Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies near East Broadway and Bennett Street.

LIBERTY: Catskills Hatzolah and Chaverim located a 3-year-old child from the Breslov community in Liberty who had been missing for several hours in the woods. B’chasdei Hashem, the child was found safe and sound. New York State Police were also on the scene.

UPDATE – FALLSBURG: Sources tell Catskills Scoop that three children suffered severe burns after live electrical wires fell at Camp Shopron on Route 42. All three children are conscious at this time and are being airlifted to a trauma center. Names for Tehillim will be published once they become available to us.

UPDATE: Sources tell Catskills Scoop that a tree fell at Camp Shopron, bringing down high-voltage electrical wires onto three children. All three, ages 9 to 10, suffered serious burns but are currently in stable condition. They were airlifted to Westchester Medical Center for treatment.

A vehicle traveling behind it nearly crashed into it before swerving away at the last second. MONTICELLO: A Reb Meir Baal Haness pushka was stolen off the wall of the Beverly Hills Bungalow Colony shul overnight, sometime between approximately 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. The theft caused damage to the wall and left a large mess behind. It was not immediately known how much money was inside the pushka. Catskills Shomrim and police are investigating the incident.

SWAN LAKE: Approximately 45 bochurim from a local camp became lost and disoriented Thursday afternoon while hiking in the woods behind the camp. Catskills Chaverim and Chaverim of Rockland Search and Rescue located the group and safely brought them out. Two were treated by Catskills Hatzolah.
