FALLSBURG: A cleaning employee working for the management company of a residential development was arrested after stealing residents' packages on multiple occasions. Surveillance footage captured the repeated thefts, allowing detectives from the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office to identify and arrest the suspect. Deputies also recovered numerous stolen items, including several expensive packages.

LOCH SHELDRAKE: Sullivan County Sheriff's detectives have recovered stolen tefillin and other property taken during two vehicle break-ins that occurred on July 29 at the Town & Country housing development in Loch Sheldrake and the Green Acres bungalow colony in Liberty. Investigators linked both thefts to a stolen white BMW that had fled from Liberty Police during a pursuit earlier that morning. After examining the abandoned vehicle, detectives recovered tefillin and other stolen items, which were returned to their grateful owners this week. ROCK HILL: Catskills Hatzolah Search and Rescue responded to Katrina Falls after two hikers became lost for approximately three hours. The hikers were successfully located, are doing well, and are now on their way home.

KIAMESHA: Earlier, a tractor-trailer became stuck while exiting a parking lot on Route 42 near Fraser Road. Catskills Chaverim volunteers assisted in pulling the truck back, and traffic returned to normal.

MONTICELLO: A suspect wanted for stealing bicycles was arrested by Monticello Police with the help of Catskills Shomrim volunteers and Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies near East Broadway and Bennett Street.

LIBERTY: Catskills Hatzolah and Chaverim located a 3-year-old child from the Breslov community in Liberty who had been missing for several hours in the woods. B’chasdei Hashem, the child was found safe and sound. New York State Police were also on the scene.
