As Sullivan County's summer season gets underway, 911 officials are reminding campers, picnickers, and residents not to hang up if they accidentally dial 911. Nearly one-third of daily calls are accidental. Stay on the line and let the dispatcher know it was a mistake. Hanging up requires dispatchers to call back and may result in police being sent to check on you. Parents are also urged not to let children play with old or active cell phones, as all cell phones can still call 911.
