Al Arabiya, citing a U.S. official, reports Bahrain participated in tonight’s strikes on Iran. The same official said the U.S. could shift to offensive strikes if needed, though for now the operation is still being described as defensive. A U.S. official also told CNN that the ceasefire with Iran has “at least temporarily ceased.” The official said the latest strikes targeted missiles, drones and other Iranian military capabilities that could threaten U.S. assets, including aircraft carriers, as well as targets around the Strait of Hormuz tied to threats against commercial shipping. The operation involved both U.S. Navy and land-based forces, and further strikes have not been ruled out.

U.S. forces have struck more than 170 Iranian military targets over the past two days, The New York Times reports, including air defense systems, missile and drone storage sites, military speedboats, and coastal logistics infrastructure near the Strait of Hormuz. The total is roughly 14 times higher than the number of targets hit during the last round of two-day U.S. retaliatory strikes in late June.

Troops from the 551st Brigade and the Yahalom Unit dismantled two additional Hezbollah tunnel routes in the Majdal Zoun area of southern Lebanon, bringing down underground infrastructure that stretched about 200 meters and reached a depth of roughly 20 meters. Inside the tunnels, troops found living quarters, three launch shafts aimed at Israeli territory and dozens of weapons. The IDF says forces also uncovered mortars, launchers and RPG rockets in nearby searches, and killed an armed Hezbollah terrorist near one of the tunnel routes.
