An Arab terrorist shot dead after attempting to stab Israeli troops during an overnight operation in Jenin has been identified as the father of the terrorist who murdered three Israelis in a 2022 Tel Aviv shooting attack. The IDF said troops from the Paratroopers Brigade were conducting an arrest raid when the terrorist, armed with a knife, attacked the soldiers. The troops opened fire and killed him. No Israeli forces were wounded. Palestinian media identified the attacker as Fathi Hazem, father of Ra’ad Hazem, who opened fire at a crowded Tel Aviv bar on April 7, 2022, killing Tomer Morad and Eytam Magini, both 27, and Barak Lufan, a 35-year-old father of three. Ra’ad fled the scene and was killed near a mosque in Jaffa following an hours-long manhunt involving hundreds of security personnel. Authorities said he opened fire at officers after being located. Following his son’s attack, Fathi publicly praised him and refused Israeli summonses for questioning.

🚨 BREAKING - Israeli Strike Reported in Central Gaza After Katz Orders IDF to Act “Forcefully” Against Kite Launches Palestinian media report an Israeli airstrike near az-Zawayda in central Gaza, close to the Maghazi camp. The IDF has not yet commented on the reported strike or confirmed whether it is connected to recent kite launches from the Strip. The report comes shortly after Defense Minister Israel Katz said he instructed the IDF to “act immediately and forcefully” against launches from Gaza toward Israeli border communities. At least four kites flown from Gaza landed in Kibbutz Nahal Oz over the weekend, though the IDF said nothing suspicious was found on them and they posed no danger to the public. 🚨 Major Security Breach at Israel’s Knesset: Intruder Passes Two Checkpoints and Reaches Interior Near Speaker’s Office An unidentified man managed to pass two security gates overnight and enter the Knesset building in Jerusalem, where he was ultimately found sitting not far from Speaker Amir Ohana’s office. The breach was apparently uncovered only after security personnel from the nearby Foreign Ministry alerted the Knesset Guard that a suspicious man had approached the Bank of Israel and asked how to reach the Knesset. Guards then reviewed surveillance footage and discovered that he had already made it inside. At around 2:15 a.m., Knesset security located and detained him. He did not enter Ohana’s office. According to the Knesset account cited by Israeli media, initial questioning indicated that the man was mentally unstable. He was transferred to police and then for medical observation. No terrorist motive has been reported. Ohana has ordered the Knesset Officer to appoint an investigating officer to examine how an unauthorized individual managed to penetrate two layers of security and roam inside one of Israel’s most sensitive government buildings before being detected.

TERRORIST CAPTURED: An Arab terrorist suspected of carrying out this morning’s stabbing attack near the Arab village of al-Auja in the Jordan Valley has been captured following an hours-long manhunt, the IDF says. The terrorist, a 16-year-old resident of al-Auja, allegedly stabbed a 24-year-old Israeli who had stopped near the village to shop, moderately wounding him, before fleeing the scene. Israeli troops launched a large-scale search following the attack and apprehended the terrorist in al-Auja several hours later. He was taken into custody and transferred to the Shin Bet for interrogation.

Bay Harbor Islands Police Commander Tomas Rego was off duty when he heard a woman screaming near a waterfront home. He rushed over and found little Noa unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing after being pulled from a swimming pool. The terrified mother repeatedly pleaded, “Don’t let my daughter die.” Rego immediately began CPR. After only two rounds, Noa began vomiting and let out a cry, signaling that she was breathing again. “It was a big miracle,” Noa’s mother, Tiffany Leaf, recalled. “When she said, ‘Mama,’ I knew she was going to be OK.” Noa is now healthy and thriving. Her grateful family recently reunited with Rego as he received a life-saving award from the Bay Harbor Islands Police Department for his heroic actions. Nassau County police said the GMC struck a tree and an unoccupied parked car before plunging into the pool. Rahmani was pulled from the vehicle and rushed for treatment but could not be saved. New reporting indicates authorities believe Rahmani may have suffered a medical emergency before losing control of the SUV. She reportedly remained conscious long enough to call for help and did not drown, though police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death. Tragically, Rahmani and her husband had reportedly been scheduled to leave for a trip to Paris that same day. At her funeral in Hewlett, her husband Matthew Rahmani, president of Woodmere’s Irving Place Minyan, opened his eulogy with Eshet Chayil, “Woman of Valor,” the biblical tribute traditionally recited in honor of a Jewish wife. “I’m sorry I didn’t say that at her wedding,” he told mourners, describing the woman who had stood beside him as they built their family and life together. Rahmani served as HAFTR’s math coordinator and was remembered by relatives and students as an educator who poured herself into children far beyond academics. She leaves behind her husband and four children.
