I wasn’t very good at school growing up. But from a young age, I could draw. My parents noticed it before I really understood what it meant. And instead of trying to force me down a path that didn’t come naturally, they recognized where I had potential. They put me into art classes and gave me the opportunity to develop it. Looking back, that was such an important part of my life. When you recognize something special in a child, nurture it. Give them the opportunity to see how far they can take it. For me, that was art. I started painting when I was around six years old, and I was lucky to have parents who recognized that love early on and encouraged me to keep developing it. What started as something I simply loved doing as a kid eventually became one of the biggest parts of who I am. Today, so much of my work is inspired by Jewish life, history, family, tradition, and the moments that have stayed with me personally.
