UPDATE: The fire at Cohler Fuel Oil near 14th Avenue and 40th Street was upgraded to a 2nd alarm fire as FDNY firefighters battled heavy flames and smoke conditions throughout the building. The flames have since been knocked down. Sources tell Boro Park Scoop that one person was transported by Boro Park Hatzolah for smoke inhalation. SUNSET PARK, RIGHT NEAR BORO PARK: One man was killed and another critically injured in a violent stabbing Thursday morning. Police responded just before 5 a.m. to 50th Street and 6th Avenue, where they found a 35-year-old man stabbed in the torso and a 36-year-old man slashed across the face. Both were rushed to Lutheran Hospital, where the stabbing victim was pronounced dead. The second victim is expected to survive. Police are searching for a suspect dressed in all black who fled on foot toward 6th Avenue.
