NEW: Mangoes Sold At New Jersey Walmart Stores Recalled Due To Possible Salmonella Contamination Mangoes sold at Walmart stores in New Jersey are being recalled over concerns they may be contaminated with Salmonella, the company announced. The company is recalling hundreds of cases of mangoes distributed in New Jersey, Connecticut, New York and Pennsylvania between August 10 and August 21, 2026. The recalled mangoes were sold at Walmart locations in these four states. The mangoes were packaged in Martina-branded cases. According to the Seaside Heights Fire Department, responding personnel arrived to find two patients who had fallen from the Sky Ride platform, along with a juvenile who remained on the ride. 19 Year Old Pleads Guilty To Attempted Murder In Jackson Stabbing A 19 year old Freehold man has pleaded guilty to attempted murder and other charges stemming from a November 2025 stabbing in Jackson Township that left a woman injured. Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that Jaden Thompson, 19, of Freehold, pleaded guilty on August 31, 2026, before Superior Court Judge Kenneth T. Palmer to Attempted Murder, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Eluding. The charges stem from incidents that occurred in Jackson Township on November 27, 2025, and in Edison Township the following day. New Jersey Residents Can Now Use Plug-in Solar Panels Under New Law New Jersey residents will have an easier path to using portable solar panels to generate electricity at home under legislation signed Tuesday by Gov. Mikie Sherrill. The Garden State Balcony Solar Act exempts qualifying plug-in solar devices of up to 1,200 watts from certain utility interconnection and metering requirements, including some fees, approvals and equipment mandates. The devices, commonly known as balcony solar panels, can be plugged into a standard 120-volt outlet and use a microinverter and adapter to feed electricity into a home’s existing electrical system. The electricity generated can offset household energy use and potentially reduce utility bills. Manasquan Woman Charged Months After Allegedly Running Red Light While Drunk, Killing Brick Woman A 23-year-old Manasquan woman has been charged in connection with a three-vehicle crash in Wall Township back in March that killed a Brick woman and injured another person. Tamra G. Lawlor was charged with second-degree Vehicular Homicide and fourth-degree Assault by Auto. She had previously been charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Failure to Observe Traffic Control Devices, and Possession of Open Unsealed Marijuana in a Motor Vehicle. The crash occurred shortly after 5:20 p.m. on March 5 at the intersection of Route 70 and Morningstar Road. Lawlor was driving a Subaru Crosstrek when she allegedly ran a red light and struck a Toyota Camry operated by 58-year-old Eileen Ziesmer of Brick. A Nissan Armada operated by another 51-year-old Brick woman was also involved in the crash. Driver Pleads Guilty in Crash That Killed a Construction Worker In Toms River A 52-year-old Lakehurst man has pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide in connection with a July 2025 crash in Toms River that claimed the life of a construction worker. Douglas Smith entered his guilty plea on August 31, 2026, before Superior Court Judge Kenneth T. Palmer in connection with the July 31, 2025 death of Allen Adams, 50, of Lumberton Township. The crash occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. near Lakewood Road and Raymond Avenue. Toms River Township Police responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian and found Adams seriously injured in the roadway. He was transported to Community Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
