In a historic first, a senior female officer has been appointed to command the IDF Artillery Corps’ 282nd Regiment. Col. Efrat Kaykov was named to the post as part of a new round of senior appointments approved by IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir. Kaykov currently commands the 213th Reserve Artillery Regiment and previously served as deputy commander of the 282nd. She also made history as the first woman to command a battalion in the Artillery Corps.
