Jimmy Kimmel’s Future at ABC Questioned After Charlie Kirk Controversy and Trump Clashes Questions are swirling over the future of Jimmy Kimmel Live! following reports that the long-running will most probably end after its upcoming 24th season. The speculation follows a turbulent year for Kimmel, whose program was briefly suspended after remarks he made in the aftermath of conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination. During a monologue, Kimmel accused the “MAGA gang” of trying to portray Kirk’s alleged killer as “anything other than one of them” and of using the murder for political gain. He also mocked President Trump’s response to Kirk’s death, comparing it to “a four-year-old mourning a goldfish.” The comments ignited intense backlash, with ABC affiliates pulling the show from their lineups before the network briefly suspended it. Kimmel has also continued his regular on-air attacks on President Trump and MAGA supporters.

8:22 AMThe IDF says three Palestinian Authority police officers have been detained after allegedly operating outside their jurisdiction in Area C of Judea and Samaria and assaulting an off-duty Israeli reservist. The incident occurred on August 23 near the Palestinian town of Beitunia, where PA officers had reportedly established an unauthorized roadblock in an area under full Israeli security and civil control. According to the military, the armed Israeli reservist was stopped at the checkpoint and allegedly subjected to severe physical violence. The officers then placed him inside a PA police vehicle and drove toward Ramallah before transferring him to Israeli forces shortly afterward. Israeli security officials described the incident as a serious breach of the PA security forces’ authority, saying the officers endangered the Israeli’s life and used excessive force against him. Three PA officers suspected of involvement were arrested this week and transferred for questioning by the Shin Bet. The IDF said it continues to maintain security coordination with the Palestinian Authority in accordance with government policy, but stressed that violations of established procedures and jurisdiction will not be tolerated.

7:38 PM🇶🇦 💥 WATCH: One year later, new footage shows Israel’s failed bid to eliminate Hamas leaders in Doha New footage broadcast by Qatar’s Al Araby TV shows the moment Israel struck a Hamas leadership compound in Doha, released on the attack’s first anniversary. The images document last year’s assassination attempt, not a new strike. The Sept. 9, 2025, operation targeted senior Hamas figures, including Khalil al-Hayya and Zaher Jabarin. The IDF said the targets bore responsibility for the Oct. 7 massacre and directing the war against Israel. The gathering coincided with discussions of a U.S. ceasefire proposal. The attempt did not eliminate Hamas’ top leadership. Hamas reported five members killed, including al-Hayya’s son, his office chief and three bodyguards. Qatar separately confirmed the death of one of its internal security officers. The strike carried Israel’s campaign against Hamas into the country hosting its political leadership while mediating hostage negotiations. Qatar condemned the attack, and President Donald Trump publicly criticized bombing a close U.S. ally. Israel acknowledged full responsibility for the operation.

8:10 PMCAN DOGS SMELL CANCER? Israeli Co-Founded Startup Reports 90% Success Rate An Israeli co-founded startup called Dognosis is on the cusp of a major breakthrough in cancer screening tests: using dogs to detect seven major cancers instead of invasive testing, with up to a 90 percent success rate. The research uses AI to analyze the dogs’ brain activity, respiration, and body language to detect changes. The research shows that illness changes the body’s chemistry, releasing odors that can be picked up by dogs, which have about 30 million scent receptors compared with humans’ 5 million. This faster, more affordable method of early detection will provide mass screenings to find potential cases for further testing, which may lead to higher rates of survival. 9:35 PMJUST IN: Emergency slide deploys on Trump’s Qatar-gifted Air Force One, delaying Dallas flight President Donald Trump’s departure for the Republican midterm convention in Dallas was briefly delayed after an emergency slide inflated at Joint Base Andrews. Crews deflated, detached and removed it, and the aircraft took off without incident. Trump waited aboard Marine One for roughly 15–20 minutes while personnel worked. The older blue-and-white presidential jet rolled out nearby with its boarding stairs deployed, positioning it for a possible last-minute aircraft switch. Trump said crews were checking the slide and dismissed safety concerns. Asked whether he was sure the aircraft was safe, he replied: “Yeah, I am, or I wouldn’t be on it.” Whether the deployment was intentional or accidental remained unconfirmed. The aircraft is a refurbished Boeing 747-8 donated by Qatar that Trump began using this summer. Before this incident, he had already announced plans to take it out of service for approximately 60 days for additional security upgrades.

Hamas described Hamed as a “commander and fighter” in its military wing and a member of the Al-Qassam Brigades’ Military Council responsible for Judea and Samaria. Originally from the Ramallah area, Hamed was a member of the Silwad terror cell, which carried out a series of deadly shooting attacks during the Second Intifada. He was deported to Gaza in 2011 after being released as part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange. The head of the Silwad cell, who was also freed in the Shalit deal, was killed in Rafah in May 2024. According to Palestinian media, Hamed was targeted earlier today in Gaza City’s Sheikh Ijlin neighborhood. The IDF has not yet commented on the strike.
6:02 AM⚠️ BREAKING: Houthis Push Into Mocha as Iran-Backed Offensive Threatens Red Sea Chokepoint Iran-backed Houthi forces are reported to have entered the strategic Yemeni port city of Mocha after a rapid advance along the Red Sea coast, with footage circulating from Houthi-linked channels claiming to show their fighters inside the city. Open-source battlefield reporting says Saudi-backed Yemeni forces withdrew from positions around Mocha as the Houthis advanced. However, the latest Reuters reporting stops short of confirming the city has completely fallen, saying the Houthis were nearing full control of Mocha and nearby Dhubab. The stakes are far larger than Mocha itself. The historic port sits beside the approaches to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the narrow gateway connecting the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden. Houthi control there would significantly strengthen the Iranian proxy’s ability to threaten shipping between Asia, the Suez Canal and Europe. The advance comes as fighting between the Houthis and Saudi-backed forces rapidly escalates, alongside major Houthi missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia. With Iran already disrupting traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, further Houthi gains around Bab el-Mandeb could place extraordinary pressure on both of the region’s critical maritime arteries.

2:55 PMWATCH: Iran’s Houthis Close In on Tiny Red Sea Island That Could Give Them a Grip on One of the World’s Most Vital Shipping Routes A tiny Yemeni island is suddenly at the center of a potentially enormous global crisis. Perim Island, also known as Mayyun, sits inside the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, where CNN recently gained rare access and showed just how narrow the passage is, with the African coast clearly visible across the water. Since then, the battlefield has shifted dramatically. Iran-backed Houthi forces have seized the strategic port city of Mocha, advanced onto the Hanish Islands and pushed government-aligned forces south toward Dhubab, directly across from Perim. Reuters reports that control of Dhubab and Perim would be key to gaining effective control over the Bab el-Mandeb. There is no verified report yet that Perim itself has fallen. The stakes are enormous. Roughly 8.1 million barrels of oil and petroleum products were moving through Bab el-Mandeb each day in the second quarter of 2026, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. With Iran already disrupting the Strait of Hormuz, Saudi Arabia has increasingly relied on its Red Sea export route through Yanbu. Markets are already reacting as Brent crude surged above $105 a barrel as the Houthi advance and renewed attacks on regional shipping deepened fears over supply. If Perim and the surrounding coastline fall, Tehran’s most powerful regional proxy could gain unprecedented leverage over the southern gateway to the Red Sea.
3:37 PMDID YOU KNOW? The Arab Christian From Haifa Running Apple’s Hardware Just Took Center Stage for the iPhone Duo Someone tell Tucker Carlson he may want to skip the new iPhone Duo. One of the key figures behind Apple’s biggest new hardware launch is Johny Srouji: born and raised in Haifa in an Arab Christian family, educated at Israel’s Technion, and now Apple’s Chief Hardware Officer. He oversees the teams responsible for virtually all of Apple’s hardware, from product engineering to chips, displays, cameras, batteries and sensors. Srouji earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science at the Technion. He joined Apple in 2008 to lead development of the A4, Apple’s first in-house system-on-a-chip, and went on to become one of the architects of the Apple Silicon revolution. He also played a major role in building Apple’s R&D presence in Israel. And at Apple’s iPhone Duo unveiling, there he was explaining the engineering behind the company’s first foldable iPhone, including its precision hinge and display technology. An Arab Christian from Israel, educated at an Israeli university, now sitting at the very top of global technology. Not exactly the version of Israel its loudest critics like to advertise.

9:30 PM🍎🍯 WATCH: More Than 25,000 Jews Reach Uman for Rosh Hashanah as Wartime Pilgrimage Surges Toward 40,000 Uman is filling fast. More than 25,000 Jewish pilgrims have already arrived in the Ukrainian city ahead of Rosh Hashanah, with roughly 40,000 expected to gather for one of the largest Jewish pilgrimages in the world. The crowds are converging on the tomb of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, whose followers have traveled to Uman for generations after he emphasized the importance of being with him on Rosh Hashanah. The pilgrimage now draws Jews from Israel and around the world, far beyond the Breslov community itself. Getting there remains unusually difficult as Ukraine’s airspace is closed because of the ongoing war, forcing travelers to fly into neighboring countries such as Moldova, Romania and Poland before continuing overland. Ukrainian security forces have significantly reinforced the pilgrimage zone, with Israeli police also deployed to assist.

I’m going to start holding songs for ransom, okay?” Thankfully, it was all Scottish humor and she says she has since received over 155 Rosh Hashanah dinner invitations. 😂 For those of you living under a rock who still haven’t heard Morgan sing Miami Boys Choir’s Yerushalayim, which went viral, watch it at the end of the video.

The aerial installation appeared alongside New York’s iconic Tribute in Light, visually restoring the towers to the Manhattan skyline as the nation marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11. The traditional memorial uses 88 powerful xenon lights to send two beams up to four miles into the sky. Today, victims’ families are gathering at Ground Zero to read the names of those lost. For the first time, the anniversary ceremony will also include a seventh moment of silence honoring those who later died from 9/11-related illnesses and injuries.
8:37 AMThe IDF has released footage showing troops searching Hezbollah’s extensive tunnel network beneath the Ali Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon before the underground complex was destroyed last night. Around 50 Hezbollah operatives were believed to have been hiding beneath the ridge when the latest ceasefire took effect in June. The IDF says that, contrary to recent reports, no members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were present inside the tunnels. According to the military, numerous Hezbollah operatives were killed during the operation to seize the underground complex, including terrorists attempting to escape through tunnel shafts and others trying to reinforce the position. IDF footage shows two Hezbollah operatives being struck after they opened fire from one of the tunnel entrances. Troops later discovered roughly a dozen bodies inside the underground network. Some Hezbollah operatives are nevertheless believed to have escaped the area. With the tunnel complex now destroyed, the IDF says it will reorganize its deployment around Ali Taher Ridge while maintaining control of the strategic position through surveillance capabilities and firepower.
