The IDF has released footage showing troops searching Hezbollah’s extensive tunnel network beneath the Ali Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon before the underground complex was destroyed last night. Around 50 Hezbollah operatives were believed to have been hiding beneath the ridge when the latest ceasefire took effect in June. The IDF says that, contrary to recent reports, no members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were present inside the tunnels. According to the military, numerous Hezbollah operatives were killed during the operation to seize the underground complex, including terrorists attempting to escape through tunnel shafts and others trying to reinforce the position. IDF footage shows two Hezbollah operatives being struck after they opened fire from one of the tunnel entrances. Troops later discovered roughly a dozen bodies inside the underground network. Some Hezbollah operatives are nevertheless believed to have escaped the area. With the tunnel complex now destroyed, the IDF says it will reorganize its deployment around Ali Taher Ridge while maintaining control of the strategic position through surveillance capabilities and firepower.

Hamas’s Khan Younis Brigade commander was reportedly killed in an Israeli airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip overnight, according to Hamas and Palestinian media. A Hamas-linked account published a “martyr poster” identifying the commander as Muhammad Abdul Salam Al-Yazouri, also known as Abu al-Haitham. The IDF confirmed carrying out an airstrike against terror operatives in the Khan Younis area last night, but said it is still working to verify the identities of those killed.

Holocaust Survivor Yehuda Widawski Dies at 107 Yehuda Aharon Widawski, a Holocaust survivor who spent years helping preserve Jewish cemeteries and the memory of Jewish communities in Poland, has died at 107. Widawski died Sunday night, on Rosh Hashanah. He was born in Poland in 1919 and later survived some of the worst years of the Holocaust. When the Nazis invaded Poland, Widawski and his family were sent to the Lodz Ghetto. He was later deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau, where his parents and several of his brothers and sisters were killed.
