She is charged with attempted second-degree grand larceny and was due in First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday. Police are asking families to talk to older relatives, neighbors, and friends about these schemes. The Aug. 22 encounter happened as the employee was driving a county vehicle. He is accused of shouting “Heil Hitler” and throwing a salute at another driver. StopAntisemitism posted the photo, and it spread quickly. County officials say the worker was terminated Aug. 28. The investigation is still open, and the employee has until Sept. 4 to appeal. The county has not released his name, citing threats. The other driver, who has also stayed anonymous, said the clash started when he cut in front of the county vehicle while turning into a shopping plaza. He said he rolled down his window to apologize and was met with antisemitic slurs instead. County Administrator Joseph Abruzzo said there is no place for antisemitism, hatred, or discrimination in Palm Beach County government. 🇺🇸-Hasidic Man Punched Near Diamond District As Attacker Yells Slurs A Hasidic man was walking Street and Sixth Avenue in Midtown Monday evening when a man walked up, grabbed his hat, and punched him in the temple. The attacker shouted antisemitic slurs, then snatched the victim’s phone and threw it on the ground before running off. The punch left bruising on the side of the victim’s head. Bystanders and Manhattan Shomrim helped track the suspect. NYPD arrested him and charged him with robbery and hate crime assault. He was released without bail the same day. The attack happened in the Diamond District, steps from Rockefeller Center. New NYPD numbers released today show hate crimes up nearly 16 percent so far this year.
