12:36 AMMoshe GrunwaldHow updates work You might see updates posted here but don’t yet see it in your app. Here is how it works and how to get the latest updates: Lots of updates are pushed out directly to the app without going through the App Store or Google Play. When you start the app, it checks for updates. If an update is available it download it. The next time the app restarts, it uses the new version. This means that if you have the app running for a while, you won’t be using the latest version. You might see me posting about a feature but you won’t see it in your app. You can use this page to check if there are any updates available. If there is, it’ll ask you if you want to restart the app. https://jooish.app/settings/updates

8:41 PMMoshe GrunwaldiOS-only update: Today, a new version of Jooish was released on the App Store. It adds support for Smart Speed and Voice Boost for podcasts. (Did you know Jooish now has podcasts? Check them out here: https://jooish.app/podcasts ) Smart Speed: This removes the blank space between spoken words. Some speakers take long pauses, so Smart Speed shortens them. It also tracks how much time you’ve saved. Once you’ve saved at least one minute, you’ll see it next to the menu option. This works separately from playback speed. Voice Boost: Podcasts are mostly spoken audio, which means they’re mostly people talking. However, the audio isn’t always tuned for speech and can sound much better when voices are emphasized. Voice Boost does this automatically. These features are possible because Jooish iOS now has a custom audio-processing engine. They’re currently only available on iOS. If you’d like to see them on Android, please reply privately to this message and let me know.
