Hatzolah Responds To Cardiac Arrest At Jackson Shop, Revives Teen A dramatic incident Friday highlighted the lifesaving work of Hatzolah CJ and the organization’s commitment to providing emergency medical care to everyone in the communities it serves. BUSING FIASCO ANALYSIS: Lakewood Transportation Crisis Looms As Schools Urge Parents To Opt Out Of LSTA Following Thursday’s dramatic announcement from the Lakewood Student Transportation Authority (LSTA) that the cost of non-mandated transportation would increase from $385 to $945 per student for the 2026-27 school year, many Lakewood schools, at the recommendation of the Igud Hamosdos, have begun urging parents of non-mandated children not to enroll their children in the program at the new rate. In their guidance, the Igud said it had consulted with numerous schools and recommended that parents “do not opt in” to the non-mandated busing program at the $945 rate, as they “believe the cost should be covered through government funding rather than placed on parents.” In response to that recommendation, many Lakewood parents have been reaching out to TLS through our multiple platforms, asking what this means as the new school year gets underway. Large Turnout at Lakewood Property Tax Relief Filing Event Over 130 additional Lakewood area residents are now on the path to receive property tax relief for 2026, following their successful filing at the special ANCHOR event held Sunday at the Westwood office complex, near the Lakewood-Toms River border. Despite it taking place on a weekend – to enable maximum public participation – a team of New Jersey Department of the Treasury officials were on hand to advise applicants, one-on-one, regarding the program and to facilitate their filings on the spot. Coming Soon To New Jersey: Amazon To Begin Drone Home Deliveries Amazon plans to begin delivering packages by drone in parts of New Jersey this fall, with operations expected to launch in mid-October from its facility in West Deptford Township. According to a notice sent to Mantua Township officials, Amazon’s Prime Air operating area will extend roughly 15 miles from the facility. The proposed delivery area includes nearly all of Mantua Township northwest of Pitman, as well as the Borough of Wenonah. According to a preliminary investigation, William H. Wright Jr., 73, of Brick, was driving a Ford SUV eastbound when the crash occurred around 9 p.m. on the I-195 near milepost 23.6. The key east-west artery of Pine Street – located near many residential neighborhoods and office towers – saw New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) and New Jersey American Water (NJAW) replace aged underground gas and water lines with new, higher capacity infrastructure. Subsequently, Pine Street was repaved and restriped between Route 9 and New Hampshire Avenue.
